Some reasons for writing a leave application are -
In school and college, leave applications are requisite and are sent as email or handwritten applications. Most businesses now accept emails or online applications for leaves. The online applications on the Enterprise Resource Planners (ERPs) for schools, colleges and businesses have a set format in which the applicant must only add the reason for the leave. ERP notes can be shorter and even have an informal tone compared to email or handwritten leave applications.
In emails-
In the greeting, most commonly, the opening is made with “respected…”, but you can also opt for “Dear..”. Further, instead of Sir/ Madam, you can choose to write the name as Mr.(Name)/ Ms. (Name).
In the body, the opening paragraph will introduce the applicant, giving details of Name, class, Division, Roll number etc. In the second paragraph, you will state the reason for the application and the duration and dates of the leave. In the third paragraph, you ask permission and request their response.
The signature must be signed off with “Thanking You”, and add a closing salutation such as “Yours Sincerely”, “Yours Truly” or “Best Regards”. A sample of a leave application is as follows
