Honoring the Gurus on Vedavyasa Jayanthi 2021

Maneesha – Department of Sanskrit at Jain College hosted a vibrant virtual meet to celebrate Guru Purnima, also known as Vedavyasa Jayanthi, on July 24, 2021, from 09:00 AM. The program was presided by Dr. S N Nataraj - Principal of Jain College, Sri. Vijayeendra - Vice-Principal, Dr. Mahesh –Principal of SBM Jain Evening College, Dr. Suneel – HOD, Department of Sanskrit.

Dr. Suneel KS - HOD of Sanskrit spoke on the significance of Guru Poornima and Vice-Principal Sri. Vijayendra shed light on the relevance of Guru and the values that the student community must inculcate to build a rewarding and fulfilling life they envision.

Over 100 students actively participated in the virtual event, presenting the essence of commemorating Guru Purnima through various art forms. Several students sang devotional songs on Bhagwan Vedavyasa and other Gurus. Other students used the canvas to express their veneration to Bhagwan Vedavyasa by painting beautiful portraits of the sage, adding color to the virtual meet. Classical and contemporary dances were performed with zeal and enthusiasm, taking the celebratory spirit of the event to the zenith. The session then opened the platform to students who gave a presentation on various teachings and messages of the Gurus that each one must adhere to in their daily lives.

The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs.Padmaja.
