The best time to visit Jog Falls is during the monsoon season (June to September), when the waterfall is most impressive. The heavy rains cause the Sharavathi River to swell, creating a powerful and mesmerising cascade of water even as the mists rise and gently splash the viewers from the high gallery specially constructed for visitors.

The weather is pleasant in winter (October to February), and the crowds are thinner. In the dry season, the falls become calmer, and their beauty is sublime.

Although the monsoon is the best season to view Jog Falls and experience the lofty fall of water as it hits the ground below, one can see a different facet of these falls in every season.

By Rail: Sagar Jambagaru Railway Station, 30 km away, connects the region to major cities.
