Telangana has 33 districts as of 2025. These districts were reorganized from the original 10 in 2016 to improve administrative efficiency and bring governance closer to the people. Each district has its unique cultural, historical, and economic significance.. Prominent districts include Hyderabad, the capital city known for its IT hub and historical landmarks; Warangal, famous for the Kakatiya dynasty's architectural marvels; and Khammam, renowned for its lush greenery and tribal heritage. Each district showcases a mix of urban development, traditional festivals like Bathukamma, and unique tourist attractions, making Telangana a vibrant and diverse state.

When was Telangana formed ?

Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014, becoming the 29th state of India. The state was carved out of Andhra Pradesh after a prolonged movement demanding a separate state to preserve Telangana's distinct identity, culture, and resources.
