Illuminating Minds: Celebrating Literature at JAIN College's First-Ever LitFest
Literature is a vibrant thread, weaving understanding, culture, and societal growth. Here at JAIN College's Humanities Department, we not only appreciate but also celebrate the magic of literature. This illuminating celebration takes shape in our inaugural Literary Fest, aptly named the LitFest. The event provided a unique platform for budding literary enthusiasts, offering opportunities to engage with esteemed authors, participate in creative writing contests, and explore the enduring relevance of literature in the 21st century. LitFest unfolded its pages on December 10th, not just as an occasion but as a celebration of words, ideas, and the boundless creativity that literature inspires.
Our journey with LitFest began with an inauguration ceremony. The stage echoed with literary fervour, starting with a warm welcome and a poetic prayer that upheld the essence of literature. The Principal and the Head of the Department shared insightful perspectives, setting the tone for the day. The dynamic Student Council added energy with an enthusiastic briefing. The captivating panel discussion on the 'relevance of studying literature in the 21st century,' engaged the audience in a literary discussion that promised to linger in their thoughts.
Esteemed guests, Ms. Indra Chandrashekhar and Ms. Keerthana Kumar, graced the stage, weaving thoughtful discussions that left a lasting impression on our literary journey. Their insights ignited a collective passion for reading and writing among the participants.
Within the classrooms, LitFest transformed into hubs of creativity as students embraced poetry writing, essay competitions, and storytelling contests. Attendees explored vibrant stalls, embarking on literary discoveries that fuelled their curiosity. Simultaneously, the seminar hall buzzed with creative energy during an inspiring writing workshop led by Kalyanraman Durgadas, shedding light on the innovative use of AI tools in writing. Credit for this literary symphony goes to our dedicated English Lecturer, Ms. Aditi Sharma, whose passion for the subject ignited a new tradition and opened doors for our young literary enthusiasts.
As the day concluded, the echoes of literary exploration lingered, mingling with shared learning and the joyous celebration. LitFest marked a milestone in our academic calendar, becoming a testament to the enduring influence of literature on our collective consciousness.
